Something's Burning!

Can you imagine a world where each of us had to figure out what to do with our garbage? Today, there are many terms we call material after it's been used: waste, trash, post-consumed products, junk, the list goes on and on. But one thing is for certain, establishing a structure for disposing of waste was a major improvement!

Save The Earth!

If you were around back then, you'll remember the "hippy". But if not, this era between the 60's and 70's was the age of Peace and Love, man! A focus on planet Earth also started to come into the spotlight. Citizens began to see the damaging environmental effects of a growing population and when society starts making waves, the government feels pressure to act!

Industry Steps In

The 80's baby! It wasn't just a time for us to make Halloween costumes from. At the dawning of what we now call "mass consumption", plastics were a manufacturer's dream. Cheaper production costs plus lower shipping rates, it was a win-win for everyone...except for the planet.

What a Peach

Took us a little while, but we finally caught on! Today, Georgia is the 2nd largest state nationally for end markets using (and needing more of) recycled materials to make new products. Cities began working together with the private industry to scale up solutions for waste management & recycling programs.

Band-Wagon

This is one wagon we're glad the city jumped onto! Things tend to move a little bit slower in the South but after a while, we usually get the hang of it. As of 2023, over 25,000 residents in the City of Savannah participate in the curbside recycling program!

We know, we know, there's 2 more decades! Patience Obi-Wan, it's on the way..
